Well that went well then!
I think all the scrappers are sitting quietly at home with their feet up, All except Elisa who has gone to the Rugby!! at least her team won but don't mention that to Martin, he is still recovering from lift every single box yesterday at least 4 times!!
There is a rumour going round that we will do something like this again, but maybe in June next year.
The trouble is as soon as you pick a date for an event something else comes along to clash with it...we all lead busy lives theses days so finding a date that suits everyone is always difficult.

Lynnda is hoping to do some workshops soon but still trying to sort out venues. Watch this space or better still email Lynnda at oakhousestudio@googlemail.com

Any teacher or craft groups who want to get involved for our next craft day, contact us at beverleyscrappers@googlemail.com

A huge thank you to everyone who helped yesterday, lots of willing hands to make tea, lift boxes and collect money!! Thanks

Your Local Clubs.
One of the main ideas for this day was for local clubs and teachers to come along and promote themselves. We believe quite strongly that meeting regularly with other crafters is great thearpy. We have missed our regular get -togethers and hope to put that right when we can find a new venue. If you are a local teacher or club, or would like to start a new club in the area email us now about having some space on the day to do this.
Unfortunately Hazel won't be able to attend now (TV duties call) but there will be people there from her craft group who you can talk to and get more information from. Liz will be leading a workshop featuring some of Hazels deisgns.

A Radio Star

One of the teachers and organisers of the Charity Craft Day was featured on "every picture tells a story" last night (Tuesday) on BBC Radio Humberside.
You can hear Lynnda Worsnop talk about what she does here, so a chance to find out more before you come along on the day.
We are still looking for Teachers and Demostrators who want to promote their workshops and classes on the day. Unfortunately a couple of people have had to drop out. Although the day so far is based around the Scrappers interest in all things paper we would welcome input from anyone who wanted to promote their classes. We want to see more people getting the pleasure and stress busting benefits from Craft on a long term basis.

Breast Cancer Care

We have been asked to clarify the nature of this Charity Event.

The cost and expenses of the event on terms of the hall costs etc will be met by donations from the teachers and retailers.

The money raised by the competition, ATC swap, ticket monies etc will be donated this time to Breast Cancer Care.
for detaills of what these mavellous people do check out their site http://www.breastcancercare.org.uk/

The Beverley Scrappers have supported this charity before but not in this format. We have had one event similar to this one to raise money for the Radio Humberside Making Waves appeal. On that day alone we donated £300 to that fund, We also donated to this and other charities at other events.

A number of people wanted to support the Charity but were unable to attend the event this was the reason for the competition and ATC swap being proposed., so that more people could enjoy crafting and supporting the charity at the same time.

If you have questions please email beverleyscrappers@googlemail.com

Card Competition and ATC Swap

Make a Card to Show you Care
After the competition the cards will all go to a local cancer charity for them to sell, so even if you don't think your cards are "winning material" please have a go to encourage others, you will be helping both charities. Can we ask you to supply a suitable envelope with your card.

The theme of the day is Make it PINK! so make your card a pink card to show you care.

Your card should be A5 or smaller, that means it must be able to fit inside a C5 envelope.
6" x 81/4 " or 15cm x 21cm these are maximum sizes and you can pick any shape (as long as it fits inside a C5 envelope)
The judges will be looking for a card which is suitable to send to someone in need of cheering up.
Entry Fee is £1 for up to 3 cards Deadline is noon on 19th July 2008 Hand in your entries on our craft day or postal entries should be sent to Beverley Scrappers c/o Lynnda Worsnop, 1 Bay Court, Beverley, HU17 8XJ.

Charity ATC Swap

a chance to hear more about it

Lynnda Worsnop has sent in details of the event to Radio Humberside for them to include us on their events diary. The email was picked up by Steve Redgrave who has invited Lynnda to join him on his programme to take part in the "every picture tells story" feature, ( how good a subject is that for a scrapbooker).

Hopefully she will get chance to talk about the event!! listen in at out about 10.30pm ( yes I know its late but think about Lynnda she has to go into Hull for that time!) on 24th June 2008.

Another thing have you told your friends yet? why not make a day out of it? bring a picnic lunch and arrange to meet up, there is plenty of free parking and a lovely field to enjoy if the weather holds, if not we will make a picnic space in the hall.

Here is Lynnda with some pink buns from a previous breast cancer care event the scrappers held in Beverley. Could you make something for this event?

We are looking to serve hot and cold drinks, we could do with some volunteers to spend some time in the kitchen with the kettle on. If you could spare an hour to help with this please email the scrappers now.

I hope to see you all there.
